Oconee School District has been approved for five new, special needs buses. According to Dr. Michael Lucas, superintendent, the new buses bound for Oconee are among 350 new buses statewide. “We have 90 ‘yellow’ state school buses, and they travel over 8500 miles each day to transport kids in our largely rural district,” Lucas said.
