Outage resulted from car striking power pole

Hundreds of Blue Ridge Electric customers lost power temporarily this morning when a car hit a pole on Shiloh Road and Davis Creek Road.  Officials reported one injury in that accident.  Power crews arrived shortly after 7 o’clock and discovered that the car had hit a single-phase electric power pole.  But, according to Blue Ridge’s Terry Ballenger, the impact caused a wire to wrap around a three-phase pole.  The accident scene was surrounded by a heavy fog.
