Duncan revives energy bill

South Carolina’s 3rd District congressman has revived his energy bill called “EXPAND.” Jeff Duncan calls the Energy Exploration and Production to Achieve National Demand Act a jobs bill. He reintroduced the bill yesterday in Washington. Duncan says this bill would open the way for a comprehensive energy policy, which the country lacks.

A maker of reinforcement materials for the composite and building industries is expanding its operations in Anderson County. The $10 million investment by CHOMARAT North America means 20 new jobs, along with new equipment and additional manufacturing space. The company seeks to diversify its business into new markets that include industrial, automotive, and aerospace.
