Vandals strike in Oconee

As many as four Oconee County vehicles in Walhalla were the targets of vandals and thieves. Assistant county administrator Glenn Breed says the crimes were committed in the parking area at the county building on Kenneth Street. Fuel lines were cut and gasoline was removed from the vehicles.

Rush to pay county taxes

The rush is on to pay 2013 Oconee County property tax bills. Earlier today there were few, if any, open parking spots outside the county’s tax center at Pine Street. The close of business tomorrow is the deadline for Oconeeans to pay in-person and still qualify for a deduction on their 2013 returns.
