Fire destroys car near Walhalla

Fire around 7:30 last night destroyed a Lincoln Town car on highway 28 in front of Community First Bank near the Walhalla city limit. The car belonged to a motorist from Greenville. No one was hurt. Walhalla fire fighters this morning are unsure what caused the fire.

For illegal buoys, the clock is running!

In a survey of illegal buoys on Lake Keowee, the law enforcement division of the state Department of Natural Resources marked each of 75 buoys with a warning sticker.
