The sirens around Oconee Nuclear Station are to be tested around 11:50 this morning. No public action is required during the three-minute test. By testing the sirens, state and county officials and Duke Energy ensure the sirens are operating properly.

An Oconee resident has been sentenced for a third offense failure to register on the county’s registry of sex offenders.
