In close voting, Andy Inabinet is the unofficial winner of the special primary for Seat Three, Oconee County Council. Inabinet’s margin over fellow Republican Paul Cain amounted to 35 votes. Deputy finds stolen van

Deputy finds stolen van

 By pulling into a convenience store near Seneca, an Oconee deputy spotted a mini-van that matched the description of a stolen vehicle. The deputy arrested the driver, Brandon Leon Payne of Torrington Road, on the charge of possessing a stolen vehicle. The 34-year old Payne was also charged Monday night with driving under suspension.

OC wants utility aircraft removed

Oconee County has begun legal action for the removal of a plane from the county’s airport near Clemson. A lawyer on behalf of the county filed pleadings in the Common Pleas Court seeking to enjoin the owner of a utility plane made by Helio Aircraft of Prescott, Arizona. Seneca’s population virtually unchanged

In two years time, according to an estimate from the Census Bureau, Seneca’s population fell by four residents. In the 2010 Census, Seneca sported a population of 8, 102.
