Walhallans will have a choice on the ballot for the city’s special election to fill a vacant council seat. At today’s deadline, the candidate field remained Lamar Bailes and Chris Grant. The two men will compete during Walhalla’s special November 18 election to fill the remaining term of the late Kathy Rogers.

Fall near lake proves fatal

A 47-year old Elloree, South Carolina man died at 6:15 last evening at the Greenville Memorial Hospital of a head injury sustained from an apparent fall near Lake Jocassee.  Coroner Karl Addis identified the deceased as Kelly Sprouse.  The first 9-1-1 call was received at 1:19 p-m.  Addis said Sprouse’s fall apparently came during the…
