Elementary principal appointed

 Oconee School District announced the selection today of a new elementary school principal in Seneca. The county trustees have accepted Marie Simmons, current principal at Tamassee-Salem Elementary School, as the new principal of Blue Ridge Elementary School. Simmons’ hiring is effective July 1. Jail grading completed

Oconee County now has a flat surface on which to construct its $16 milllion jail. And Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says now that grading is complete, underground utilities and building foundations are next.
