Seneca Planning Commission in action tonight

Zoning actions are front and center for tonight’s meeting of the Seneca Planning Commission. The commissioners will hear requests to zone properties on Wells Highway, E. N. 1st Street, Abbott Street, and Millie Lane and Abbott Street. The hearings begin at 6 at City Hall.

President’s Day observance

The office of the Oconee Chamber of Commerce at Seneca is closed today on President’s Day. And, on this day to honor U-S presidents, a U-S senator pays a call to Walhalla. Senator Lindsey Graham makes an appearance during today’s meeting of the Walhalla Rotary Club. Graham is a dues-paying member of the club.

No damage or life safety concerns

South Carolina DOT reports all bridge inspections conducted in the earthquake area are complete and no damage or life safety concerns were discovered. DOT bridge personnel began their inspections at daybreak Saturday—the morning  following the 4.1 shake which many residents of our area felt and heard.
