Shoplifting suspect jumps into car and demands a ride

A man snatched four shirts from Belk’s in Applewood Shopping Center and ran across the highway. But, according to the Sheriff’s Office, the accused did not get far. Westminster’s W-P Anderson Park will be the setting tomorrow for the kickoff to the 2013 Oconee United Way Campaign. Meth bust the result of Seneca traffic stop

A late night traffic stop Wednesday in Seneca led the police to confiscate crystal methamphetamine, cash, and other items. The police say the driver, Larry Neil Gibson, Jr., 47, of Cottontail Drive, Westminster, was charged with meth trafficking. No change in the jobless rate

The Oconee County jobless rate in August remained unchanged at 8.8%. So did the state’s percentage of 8.1% which held for both July and August.
