Officials investigate allegations against Assistant Principal

Oconee County School Superintendent Dr. Mike Lucas says the district is investigating a complaint that Assistant Principal Charlie Fowler of Walhalla High School posted an “inappropriate comment” on the web. Lucas says Fowler has been placed on leave and the matter will be resolved this week.

Car passenger charged with carrying pipe bomb

A backseat car passenger has been arrested and charged with possessing a pipe bomb inside a car that an Oconee deputy stopped Saturday near Seneca. Accident in Seneca

Two cars collided a few minutes ago at the Seneca intersection of S. Oak and 3rd streets near Rosa Clark Medical Clinic. The police say the driver of one of the cars, a Volvo, was placed in an ambulance for trip to the hospital. Heavy damage was reported to the second vehicle, a Ford Mustang.
