Trial opens this morning

A jury has been selected for the State’s trial against a 37-year old woman in the Oconee General Sessions Court. According to the docket announcement by the 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, Melissa Ramey is charged with burglary first degree and grand larceny. Trial begins at 9 this morning.

Autopsy confirms drowning

An autopsy today confirmed the cause of an Easley man’s death in Lake Keowee was drowning. The Great Smoky Mountains Association has announced that Newfound Gap Road from Gatlinburg, Tennessee to Cherokee, North Carolina has re-opened. It says 441 is re-opened just in time for spring’s wildflowers and the park’s reawakening from its winter slumber.
