July rain total reaches 15″

A small amount of rain yesterday at Walhalla, combined with a little more than one inch Friday, makes for 15 inches for July—still with a few days remaining. Walhalla Weather Observer Barbara Wilson has been busy in 2013, keeping track of all the rain. So far, 58” through the first seven months.

Booth to make summer commencement address

The president of Tri-County Technical College, Dr. Ronnie Booth, delivers the summer commencement address 6 o’clock Friday evening at the Anderson Civic Center. Nearly 350 Tech students receive degrees, diplomas or certificates. Besides families and guests of the graduates, alumni and other friends of the college are invited to attend the ceremony.

Sheriff’s Office reports drug arrests

Oconee Sheriff’s Office reports three drug arrests since Thursday afternoon. In each instance, arresting officers say their attention was alerted by either erratic driving or a vehicle violation.
