Heavy Rains have prompted the US Army Corps of Engineers to begin releasing stored floodwaters from Hartwell, Russell & Thurmond lakes.  Inflows from the recent rainfalls has pushed the levels into the flood stage. The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for most of the Golden Corner and Northeast Georgia.  According to the weather service, an automated gauge on Lake Hartwell read 665.02 feet at 6:10 am this morning.
