Walhalla meeting tonight Cancelled

An important meeting of the Friends of the Walhalla Pool set for tonight has been cancelled. The meeting was set to be held at the Depot to discuss ways to apply for outside grants to help re-open the pool. No word on when the meeting might be re-scheduled.

Walhalla appoints James Ashton

Walhalla has expanded the duties of fire fighter James Ashton. In addition to Ashton’s responsibilities for enforcing property codes, Ashton will also serve as the point man for zoning applications. In that capacity, he’ll serve as an advisor to the city’s board of zoning appeals which considers variances to the zoning ordinance.

The U-S Commodity Futures Trading Commission has announced that Judge G-Ross Anderson entered an emergency order freezing and preserving the remaining pool participant assets under the control of Easley resident Robert Stanley Harrison. The order also forbids Harrison from destroying books and records and allows the Commodity Futures Trading Commission immediate access to those records.…
