Walhalla High School student Rachel Mangan has been awarded this year’s James M. Brown Scholarship for the Arts and will receive a $1 thousand scholarship amount for each of the next four years. Furman holds graduation ceremonies

Furman University awarded nearly 600 undergraduate and master’s degrees during weekend graduation ceremonies. An economics and political science major, Corey Nathaniel Allen of Central, was named one of six winners of the Scholarship Cup. For those half dozen students, the cup signifies their 4.0 average.
