Tree falls on woman

EMS and Walhalla Fire Department responded to a home on Lakeside Drive late yesterday afternoon and a report of a tree that fell on a woman. According to Fire Chief Doug Kelley, it’s believed the accident occurred as the tree was being cut down. The injured woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

An anonymous tip led Oconee sheriff’s officers to a home near the Keowee School Road where they apprehended a 34-year old man wanted on three charges.
