Autopsy confirms drowning

An autopsy today confirmed the cause of an Easley man’s death in Lake Keowee was drowning. Oconee Coroner Karl Addis said Charles David Keeney fell from a boat yesterday afternoon at Fall Creek Falls near Salem. Mountain road reopens

The Great Smoky Mountains Association has announced that Newfound Gap Road from Gatlinburg, Tennessee to Cherokee, North Carolina has re-opened. It says 441 is re-opened just in time for spring’s wildflowers and the park’s reawakening from its winter slumber.

Head-on crash on 130 at Keowee Key

Two people are described as having non-life threatening injuries in this morning’s head-on collision at Keowee Key. The accident was reported at 8 o’clock at an ‘S’ curve on 130 near a golf course entrances. The injured were sent to the hospital for treatment.
