Fire call near SC 183/Westminster Highway

A late night home fire near Walhalla left “minimal damage”, according to the fire department. Walhalla and Westminster fire fighters were on the go about 11 last night to 640 Hesse Highway. No one reported injured. Walhalla fire fighters say they have yet to determine how that fire started.

Rural bridge reopens

The South Carolina DOT has announced that Unity Church Road Bridge near Westminster has once again been re-opened to traffic. The bridge spans Toxaway Creek.
