Party broken up, citations issued

A late night party inside and outside a home near Seneca broke up Friday night when Oconee sheriff’s officers wrote citations for three people, including the homeowner. Deputies were called around 11:30 to a home on Treaty Street in the Singing Pines area to investigate a noise complaint and the possibility that there was underage drinking. Vehicles were lined up along the street, and officers estimated the crowd at around 300 people. According to authorities, homeowner Carmen Marie McCreary, 42, was issued a citation that alleged contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Two other people were issued tickets alleging public disorderly conduct. One person ran from the scene after being handcuffed.
