Patience a virtue, when it comes to Michelin

When it comes to whether a major tire maker will build a distribution center in a rural area of Oconee, patience is a virtue. And it’s a virtue that Richard Blackwell, the county’s chief economic development recruiter, has adopted in the waiting game for the Michelin Corporation’s decision on whether it expands to Golden Corner Commerce Park on highway 59. What do you hear about Michelin is the question 96.3/WGOG NEWS hears more often than not, and it’s a question that Blackwell says he does not tire trying to answer. “If we can wait a few more months, I think that a lot of people will be very happy to see what’s going to happen,” said Blackwell. “It’s trending in the right direction,” he said.
