Pax moves into SC

Winter Storm Pax has begun to move into South Carolina. Snow and sleet have been falling from the northern midlands to the upstate. But, the DOT says, pavement temperatures have remained above freezing, and there has been no accumulation so far. Precip is expected to tape off today, then get heavier tonight and tomorrow. SC DOT crews will work rotating, 12-hour shifts applying salt and other anti-icing/de-icing materials. Sixteen crews have been deployed from the low country to help the upstate with snow removal. By 1 p-m, statewide, roadways were still in good shape.
