Paying to sewer the I-85 corridor

Scott Moulder says the money required to bring piped sewer to the four-mile stretch of Oconee on I-85 is money that simply is not laying around in the county’s coffers.  But the county administrator said today the county’s newly-hired grant writer has identified as many as four potential sources for the county to access what it will need.  The county envisions the development of acreage on the interstate can create economic development, the cost of sewer infrastructure there could run as high as $11 million.  I-85 sewer is one of the county’s strategic goals that Moulder addressed as the guest speaker at the Walhalla Rotary Club meeting.
