Pedestrian death in Seneca

A 52-year old Seneca man died early this morning from apparent trauma after being hit by a pickup truck near a residential intersection. Coroner Karl Addis says he will release the name of the victim later today. 9-1-1 communications received a call shortly after 3 o’clock this morning of an incident on Seneca’s South Poplar Street near Scotland Drive and W. S. 2nd Street. Addis quotes an account that the victim was lying in the roadway when hit by a 2014 Toyota Tacoma pickup. The driver and his wife were running a newspaper route. Addis says an autopsy will be performed to assist with the death investigation to determine if a medical event occurred prior to the pedestrian-vehicle collision.
