“Phenomenal projects” in the works, predicts Shea Airey

img_6616Remarks, photographs, and a blown up check in excess of $600 thousand dollars made for a celebration during this morning’s meeting of the Oconee Conservation Board.  As part of the re-licensing of its Keowee-Toxaway project, Duke Energy is donating $618 thousand dollars toward Oconee’s stalled efforts to protect valuable private lands from development.  Chairman Shea Airey predicted that “phenomenal projects” are in the works over the next three to six months—about which he can’t be specific right now.  Duke Energy officials Alan Stuart and Emily Roberts made the trip to Pine Street for the ceremony.
