Pickens and Anderson prison sentences

Judges have sent defendants to prison for multiple-year terms in both Pickens and Anderson counties. The office of 13th Circuit Solicitor, Walter Wilkins, announced a 23-year prison term was handed down to 25-year old Ricky Lee Smith of Norris for first degree burglary at seven Pickens County homes. In three of those instances, victims were home at the time. In Anderson, the office of the 10th Circuit Solicitor, Chrissy Adams, announced a 15-year sentence for Devin Michael Nimmons, a co-defendant in a case of kidnapping armed robbery—in which the victim was a 79-year old retired veteran. Judge Lawton McIntosh accepted Nimmons’ pleas of guilt to accessory before the fact of a felony and conspiracy to commit a felony. Nimmons also pleaded guilty to conspiracy in an unrelated case of attempted armed robbery at the Starlight Cinemas.
