Pickens chooses new administrator

 Pickens County has a new man in charge. Announcement came last night of the selection of Matthew Delk, currently assistant administrator of Union County, North Carolina. Located east of Charlotte, Union is described as a fast-growing county with a population of 213 thousand. Delk once served as administrator in Bamberg County, South Carolina and he served as a National Guard major in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Delk starts his new job August 25.
