Pickens County man arrested in Oconee

A Westminster area disturbance last week landed a Pickens County man in the Oconee jail, charged with four offenses including the charge of attempted murder.  Law enforcement authorities identify the arrested man as Frederick Scott Parrington of Liberty.  Deputies confiscated a knife and believe a Thursday incident escalated when a knife was swung at a person at an address on O’Kelley Road. According to the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, Parrington was also issued a traffic ticket for transporting alcohol in a motor vehicle with the seal broken.  The 56-year old Parrington remained jailed today, with no bond set on the charges of attempted murder and weapons possession.
