A plane crash in Rabun County Georgia claimed one life. Sky 104’s Charlie Robinson reports he plane wrecked around 9 am Saturday morning in the North Georgia County. Rabun County EMS director Michael Mazarky said the plane was in a heavily wooded area. The FAA and NTSB were called in to investigate. The victim of the crash was Ernie Merkelis. The plane took off from Heaven’s Landing and was headed for Chicago. The air strip said visibility conditions were low. The plane struck a mountain top shortly after take off.
