Plans move ahead for park sign

According to Richard Blackwell, Oconee economic development recruiter, plans are progressing toward a sign for one of the county’s new hopes to attract jobs. Blackwell says he has the design for a 19’ by 14’ sign advertising the new Oconee Industrial and Technology Park (formerly Echo Hills) on highway 11. And it’s now a matter, he says, of following the county’s procurement rules and soliciting at least three bids. Councilman Wayne McCall will be pleased. The District Two councilman said the sign is needed to make it known to the world of the availability of the park.
