Police to release picture of robber

From surveillance evidence the police have a picture of the man who robbed a convenience store this week in Walhalla. Chief Ronald Wilbanks says his department will ask the news media to display that picture in the hopes it will lead authorities to an arrest. So far, the robber is described as an African-American male. When he used a revolver to rob the Corner Store at 607 W. Main Street at 11:25 Monday night, he was hidden behind a black mask and wore blue jeans and a grey hoodie sweat shirt. The police quote a witness to the incident as saying the robber ran toward S. Poplar Street and got into a burgundy Jeep.
