Poll workers receive training

May 30, 2014

Joy Brooks, the Oconee County elections director, led a training session this week for the poll workers who will manage the various voting precincts across Oconee County on primary election day June 10. Brooks describes Wednesday’s training as a “top-to-bottom” session with poll workers receiving instructions about the photo I-D law and the rules governing where candidates may stand in the vicinity of the polls on Election Day. Retirees, school teachers, and county workers are among those who man the polls, and Brooks hopes she’ll have enough of them on June 10.
