Possibilities in the OC job pipeline

Among on-going attempts by the office of Oconee Economic Development to recruit new manufacturing jobs is a company with interest of moving to Oconee County. It’s a project the ED office refers to as “Project May.” Richard Blackwell, ED recruiter, said, “They will be closing facility outside the state and moving operations here, along with looking at making additional investments.” Blackwell today highlighted a couple of other possibilities. They include a company involved in scientific research and a Chinese firm that has re-surfaced as a possibility. On the commercial side of job-creation, Blackwell, without giving specific details, said a commercial developer is looking “to do something on 123.”
