Potholes damage tires of Carolina drivers

‘Ol Man Winter is out the door. But he left behind damage that drivers in the Carolinas are still feeling—and paying for. The motor club AAA has determined that winter’s effects on road pavement have made for a boom in tire repair and sales for automotive and repair facilities. Potholes have contributed to ruptured tires, bent wheel rims and twisted steel alignments. The problems were the greatest in North Carolina—especially in Raleigh and Charlotte. “Some of those stranded with flat tires had no spare,” said Scott Shirley, general manager of AAA Car Care.
