Probate judges resolved

At their recent convention on Pawley’s Island, South Carolina probate judges resolved to follow the law in South Carolina which forbids marriage between couples of the same sex. Although the law may eventually change, Oconee’s Kenny Johns says, it’s the law as of today and he and his fellow judges in South Carolina’s 45 other counties have resolved to obey it. Johns hinted during an interview that he would not be averse to a compromise. “I posted a question on Facebook myself one day last week during that meeting and asked the question about what people’s opinions are, and I think a compromise would take the term ‘marriage’ out of same sex and call it a civil union. I think that’s a compromise that most people in this area could live with it,” Johns told 96.3/WGOG NEWS
