Probe to determine whether fire was arson

Fire heavily damaged a former home near Seneca. Today’s fire occurred nearly one year to the date of a case of murder-suicide at that mobile home, so the Oconee Sheriff says investigators want to know if arson caused today’s fire. The fire was reported around 5 this morning at 220 Steve Nix Road in the Return Community. It was there on January 5, 2013 authorities found the bodies of Gwendolyn Hiott and James Wesley Foxx. They theorized that the unmarried couple, who lived there as part of a relationship, died by gunshot fire, with Foxx killing Hiott, then shooting himself.
