Projection “right on the money”

After two days of the new school year, Oconee County attendance is 10,500. If that sounds like a familiar number, you have a good memory. Oconee is a county whose student enrollment remains steady. And the 10,500 count is exactly what the district projected, according to Dr. Mike Lucas, superintendent. Lucas expects that number to go up some in the next few days, especially by some students who may have not realized that the 2013-14 year began Tuesday.
