Property donated for Seneca park

After a short private meeting last night, Seneca City Council accepted the donation of one acre on East North First Street for the development of a new city park. The property donated belonged to the group KTC Associates. One of its representatives, John Adams, was seated in last night’s audience. Ed Halbig, planning and community development director, said developing the park is essential to the city’s vision for further development along the East North First corridor and its entryway to the downtown. The mayor and council last night also recognized Mark Welch, manager of the Hampton Inn and Suites, and congratulated him for an award to the hotel from its parent company, the Hilton Hotel chain.
