Prospect for Oconee park

Besides locations for public education, Oconee’s Information and TechnologyPark has room for manufacturing.  And Richard Blackwell, the county’s economic recruiter, confirmed today there is a prospect.  “Yes sir, it’s not a done deal….but we are looking very strong for a new industry to come into that industrial park.”  And that’s besides the Tech campus, the career center, and the economic development offices that are being recommended for the park, which currently sits empty on n. highway 11.  Speculation that something may be afoot for general manufacturing there heightened when the Oconee State “C” Fund Committee approved $20 thousand to pave the cul de sac property inside the park.
