PRT recommends

In line with a recommendation from a group of Oconee residents, money spent on accommodations by visitors to Oconee County will be spent by a variety of organizations in the business to bring more visitors to the county. At a meeting yesterday, the county Parks, Recreation and Tourism Commission recommended a total of 30 thousand, 269 dollars, 51 cents be spent by 11 organizations. The amounts range from a low 687 dollars for the Oconee Heritage Center to a high of 7 thousand, 105 dollars, 21 cents for advertising by the Walhalla Civic Auditorium. The PRT’s recommendation is to be forwarded for action at the County Council’s September 18 meeting.
