U-S Forest Service officials are asking for comments on an environmental analysis released yesterday on designating boater access trails on the upper segment of the Chattooga Wild and Scenic River. The analysis covered five proposed trails on national forests in Georgia and the Carolinas. The proposal is linked to decisions made in 2012 to allow boating on the upper segment of the river. The Forest Service would build and designate hiking trails and establish boater access sites at Greens Creek trail, County Line trail, Bullpen Bridge, Burrells Ford Bridge and Lick Log Creek.
