Public hearing speakers have taxes on their minds

County Council winner Wayne McCall believes the issue of taxes helped return him to office for a new four year term.  During last night’s budget hearing, McCall and the council heard two men talk about taxes.  One man, former county councilman Steven Moore, called for the county to lower taxes.  The other, former councilman Paul Corbeil, said the county government’s accomplishments in recent years have resulted in better services to the citizens and he defended the council’s decision to raise taxes by 1.5 mills for the current tax year.
