Public safety checkpoint in OC

The Anderson City Police and officers from other law enforcement agencies will conduct a public safety checkpoint tomorrow in Oconee County. It’s part of the annual Hands Across the Border Campaign. Chief Jim Stewart said officers will not look for specific violations during the checkpoint, but will inspect motor vehicles to verify that the drivers comply with all applicable South Carolina laws. The goal is to lower the number of alcohol-related and fatal car crashes in Anderson and Oconee counties.
