Pursuit lands Seneca area man in jail

For a second time in as many days, Oconee sheriff’s officers chased a suspected lawbreaker and, like Monday’s chase, they nabbed their suspect.  The Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 44-year old Seneca area man on multiple offenses.  Wayne Eugene Raffaldt of the Singing Pines Road was charged with driving under suspension; unlawful use of a license plate, reckless driving, simple possession of marijuana, and violation of the county litter law.  According to the Sheriff’s Office, other charges are possible.  The Sheriff’s Office gave this account of a car making a turn onto the West-Oak Highway early yesterday without using a turn signal.  Once the deputy discovered the car displayed a tag belonging to another vehicle, the officer tried to affect a traffic stop.  But the driver refused and the subsequent pursuit covered parts of southern Oconee, ending when the silver Mitsubishi hit stop sticks and came to a halt on I-85 near exit 4.
