Qualifying ends in Oconee without a whimper

Candidates’ books closed at Walhalla yesterday for Oconeeans to run in the June primary elections, without any new candidates. There will, however, be Republican contests between Paul Corbeil and Edda Cammick for their party’s nominaton for Seat One, Oconee County Council and between Andy Inabinet and Paul Cain for Seat Three, Oconee County Council. In a separate, special primary, Inabinet and Cain meet tomorrow to decide the nomination to run to fill the unexpired Seat Three term. The following Republican incumbents go into the primary season unopposed for new terms: Probate Judge Kenny Johns and House members Bill Whitmire of District One and Bill Sandifer of District Two.
