Quarry sustains jawbreak

The break down of the jaw crusher at the Rock Quarry forced Oconee County to rent a hydraulic crane to remove the disabled machinery, to allow the county to transport for repairs in the Atlanta area. The emergency repair bill of $73 thousand is being forwarded to next week’s County Council meeting. The inoperable jaw crusher could not be repaired on location at the quarry near Walhalla. County staff also recommends spending nearly $100 thousand to order switching equipment required for the county’s IT/Broadband Project “FOCUS.
