Question the candidates during forums

You may ask questions of political candidates and hear their responses during political forums in the next couple of weeks during a forums sponsored by the Clemson Area League of Women Voters. A forum for Oconee County Council candidates is Tuesday, May 31, 6:00-7:30 p.m., at the Gignilliat Community Center on North Townville Street in Seneca. Running for the District 2 seat are Jared Ketterman  and incumbent Wayne McCall. For the District 4 seat, candidates are John Dalen, Julian Davis, and incumbent Joel Thrift. Standing for the District 5 seat are James Glenn Hart and Sandra Jones. The League of Women Voters’ forum for the Solicitor’s office in the 10th Judicial Circuit serving Oconee and Anderson counties is Thursday, June 2, 6:00-7:30 p.m., at the Pendleton Branch of the Anderson County Public Library, located at 650 South Mechanic Street in Pendleton. Candidates are Wilson Burr, Rame Campbell, and David Wagner. “Our forums are open to all interested area residents, and we encourage audience members to submit written questions to the candidates on the panels. This is an excellent opportunity for voters to learn about the positions of the individual candidates,” said Janie Shipley of Seneca, president of the local League. The League of Women Voters®, a nonpartisan political organization open to men and women, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
