The hard right that the country’s housing industry took during the Great Recession five years ago was a near knock-out punch for home sales and home building. But at the start of 2014 word comes of a new home development destined for Lake Keowee in the Ebenezer Community. It’s there this morning at the 4-way stop on 188, under a tent and under pouring rain, individuals are gathering for a ceremony to cut a ribbon for the start of The Oaks at Lake Keowee. According to Anderson real estate broker Luke Edwards, the Oaks is to be a 30-home development. The property covers 64 acres and the homes are to be situated on lots of ½ to two acres.
