Real estate business to be transacted

Oconee County Council has real estate business on its agenda next week. At its meeting Tuesday, the council is scheduled to give first reading in title only to conveying 70 acres to the Pioneer Rural Water District. The property is situated outside the Golden Corner Commerce Park at Fair Play and is being conveyed for the purpose of allowing Pioneer to eventually build its first treatment plant. The County Council will also be asked to spend $72 thousand dollars to buy four parcels of private property to eliminate height obstructions inside the runway protection zone at the Oconee Regional Airport. The county has been directed by the FFA to eliminate all height obstructions within the runway protection zone to runway #7.
